Inovev forecasts 75,000 units per year of the new Dacia Jogger
- The Renault group unveiled at the 2021 Munich Motor Show the successor of the Dacia Lodgy (C-segment MPV). It takes the name of Dacia Jogger and is designed on the recent Dacia Sandero which is a great success in Europe. The Dacia Jogger is therefore based on the CMF-B platform shared with the Renault Clio and Dacia Sandero, while the Lodgy was based on an old platform, the Clio II platform, marketed between 1998 and 2005.
- The Dacia Jogger adopts a more radical style than the Lodgy, coming a little closer to the SUV category, the MPV category now being ignored by customers. It can carry five or seven passengers depending on the version, like the Dacia Lodgy. But it is more spacious because longer by 6 centimeters (4.55 m against 4.49 m). It is also lower (1.63 m against 1.68 m).
- The Dacia Jogger also succeeds to the Logan MCV station wagon as the carmaker has decided not to launch a station wagon on the basis of the new Logan, a model which will not be imported into Western Europe. This decision could promote the career of the Dacia Jogger which will have to attract both customers of the old Lodgy and those of the old Logan station wagon.
- The Dacia Jogger will be equipped with the 3-cylinder turbo petrol of 999 cm3 fitted to the Dacia Sandero and Duster, but it will develop here 110 hp against 100 hp on the Duster and 90 hp on the Sandero. The model will also be available in an LPG version (ECO G100), but no diesel, or hybrid or full electric version scheduled. The Dacia Jogger will be produced in Pitesti in Romania, early 2022, alongside the Dacia Duster. Inovev forecasts 75,000 sales per year of the Dacia Jogger.

Inovev forecasts 50,000 to 75,000 units per year of the new electric Renault Megane
- The Renault group unveiled at the 2021 Munich Motor Show the new Renault Mégane E-Tech Electric which is the third battery electric vehicle (BEV) of the Renault brand (excluding light utility vehicles), placed in the carmaker's product line above the electric Twingo (A-segment) and Zoe (B-segment). The Mégane E-Tech Electric is expected to complete the carmaker’s offering in the C-segment, alongside the thermal Méganeand Kadjar. The new model is an hybrid when it comes to styling, mixing the codes of the sedan with those of the SUV. It launches the new CMF-EV platform which will be used by most of the Renault and Alpine electric cars planned for the next three years. The model (4.21 m long, 1.78 m wide and 1.50 m high) competes directly with the Volkswagen ID3 which is the electric alternative to the Golf in the C-segment market.
- The engine of the Mégane E-Tech Electric is available in two powers: 96 kW (130 hp) and 160 kW (218 hp) against 107 kW (145 hp), 110 kW (110 hp) and 150 kW (204 hp) for the Volkswagen ID3. The battery has a capacity of 40 kWh (300 km of range) or 60 kWh (450 km of range) against 45 kWh (350 km of range), 58 kWh (425 km of range) or 77 kWh (544 km of autonomy) on the Volkswagen ID3 depending on the version.
- The Mégane E-Tech Electric will be assembled, beginning 2022, exclusively at the Douai (France) plant at 50,000 units per year at the start of its career, then 75,000 units per year in the middle of its career. Production will begin in early 2022. Renault has decided to practice an aggressive pricing policy (for this market) as the new model will be available from 36,000 euros, while a Zoe is priced from 32,500 euros to 34,800 euros depending on the version. A Volkswagen ID3 is priced from 34,750 euros to 43,700 euros depending on the version.

Inovev forecasts 100,000 to 200,000 units per year of the new VW ID2 and its derivatives

Inovev forecasts 100,000 to 200,000 units per year of the new VW ID2 and its derivatives
- Volkswagen unveiled at the 2021 Munich Motor Show a concept car that foreshadows future B-segment battery electric vehicles (BEVs) for the Volkswagen (ID2), Skoda (Elroq) and Seat (?) brands, which will replace the Volkswagen Up!, Skoda Citigo and Seat Mii electrics whose commercial career will be stopped in the coming months.
- The concept car unveiled at the Munich Motor Show looks exactly like the Renault concept car which is presented at the same show and which announces the future electric R5 also of B-segment. Volkswagen leaves the MPV style of the ID3 to adopt a more classic line with a well-separated square and flat engine hood.
- The new model which will replace the Up!, Mii and Citigo will no longer be assembled at the Bratislava plant (Slovakia) but at Martorell (Spain) where it should succeed on the assembly lines the various Seat models and the Audi A1 which will be soon stopped. Production model will begin in 2023 under the three brands Volkswagen, Skoda and Seat.
- In fact, the transfer of the Martorell plant to all-electric will take several years. It is a real challenge for the VW to turn the plant entirely dedicated to electric cars in 2030, taking into account the constraints to the development of this technology in Europe. 2035 seems to be a more realistic objective. This is why Inovev thinks that the production will turn around 100,000 units per year for the VW ID2 and its Skoda and Seat versions, at the start of their career (2023-2025) and then 200,000 units per year in mid-career (2026- 2028) and finally 250,000 units per year at the end of the career (2029-2031).

Inovev forecasts 25,000 to 50,000 units per year of the new Mercedes EQE

Inovev forecasts 25,000 to 50,000 units per year of the new Mercedes EQE
- Mercedes unveiled at the 2021 Munich Motor Show its new upper mid-range electric sedan (E-segment) named EQE, and which looks like a reduced EQS (4.94 m long against 5.22 m), taking the same aerodynamic hatchback shape with a tailgate. We now expect the new EQC sedan (D-segment) to complete the line-up of Mercedes full electric sedans.
- The Mercedes EQE, based on the new EVA2 platform, is today the seventh battery electric model of the Stuttgart brand, as there are currently in the catalog the EQA, EQC, EQS, EQV, e-Vito, e-Sprinter, before the coming launch of the EQB (electric GLB), EQG (Class G electric) and e-Citan (Citan electric).
- The Mercedes EQE has a generously sized battery as it offers a capacity of 90 kWh allowing a range of 660 km, which is one of the best results yet for a BEV. Its engine produces 292 hp, but new and more powerful versions will be added next year, including a version with four-wheel drive and two electric motors.
- The Mercedes EQE production will begin in early 2022 at the Sindelfingen (Germany) plant alongside the EQS, E-Class and S-Classe. Like all electric cars, Inovev foresees a gradual ramp-up for the Mercedes EQE: 25,000 units per year at the start of its career then 50,000 per year in mid-career.

Inovev forecasts 50,000 to 100,000 units per year of the new Smart SUV

Inovev forecasts 50,000 to 100,000 units per year of the new Smart SUV
- The Smart brand will stop producing its Fortwo and Fourfour models in Europe in 2022, after a 2021 year which will mark some progress over 2020, as the production volume will probably exceed 50,000 units produced this year against 37,000 the previous year and 123,000 in 2019. In the meantime, all production switched from thermal to fully electric, which has caused the brand to lose many customers who have left to competitors.
- The realistic Smart concept car presented at the 2021 Munich Motor Show reveals a change in the business model of the brand which no longer seems to market A-segment models, but more imposing B-segment vehicles. With 4.29 m long, the concept car is way longer than the 2.70 m of the Fortwo and the 3.50 m of the Forfour. The dimensions of the new model, which are closed to a SUV than a sedan, are similar to those of the Mini Countryman (4.30 m). But the new model of Smart powered exclusively by a 100% electric motor is wider (1.90 m) and higher (1.70 m) than the Mini Countryman (1.82 m wide and 1.56 m high).
- Designed on a technical basis developed by the Chinese Geely, the future SUV of Smart should share components/systems with Volvo models that will use the same platform, Volvo being part of the Geely group. With a battery capacity of 70 kWh, the future Smart will have an autonomy of 400 kilometers.
- The production model resulting from this concept will be unveiled at the end of 2022 and marketed in early 2023. It will be assembled in China, following the agreement signed with Mercedes last year. The model will of course be sold in China and exported throughout Europe. Inovev forecasts 50,000 sales per year of this model at the start of its career, then 100,000 per year in the middle of its career.
