Facelifts of E-class coupe and convertible

- Mercedes will restyle the E-Class coupe and convertible after having facelifted the E-Class sedan and station wagon.
- The coupe and convertible versions will receive the same aesthetic changes as the sedan and station wagon models (new headlights, new bumper). However the steel folded line on the rear wing is kept on both sport versions .
- In addition, the calendar receives one bar instead of two on the sedan and wagon, as on the roadster SL, SLK and SLS.
- In this way, these two E-Class Coupe and Convertible are now approaching the style of these sport vehicles .
- In 2012, Mercedes sold 50,000 copies of the E-Class coupe and convertible in the world.

- The light vehicle (PC+LUV) sales rose in the U.S. by 9% in December, to 1.35 million units, bringing the volume for the full year 2012 to 14,493,000 units, up by 13 4% compared to 2011.
- General Motors sales increased by 3.7% last year to 2.60 million vehicle. However its market share has shrunk by almost two percent down to 17.9%.
- Ford sales have increased by 4.7 % to 2.24 million units. Its market share also fell, down to 15.5% versus 16.8% in 2011.
- Fiat-Chrysler performed much better. Its sales jumped by 20.6% to 1.65 million vehicles. Consequently is market share increased from 10.7% to 11.4%.
- As for Asian automakers,:
•Toyota sales bounced last year to 2.08 million units). Its market share rose to 14.4%
•Honda Sales rose by 24% (1.42 million units) and Nissan 10% (1.14 million units).
•Hyundai-Kia sales rose by 11% (1.26 million units).

Volvo sales could not exceed 425,000 in 2012

- Global sales of Volvo Cars could not exceed 425 000 units in 2012, as they totaled 422 000 units only, against 425,000 in 2011.
- The manufacturer has missed its goal of selling 475,000 vehicles throughout 2012. in the United States, its biggest market, Volvo reported a sales increase of 1.2% last year to 67,000 units. In contrast, in China, the Swedish brand has suffered a decline in sales of 10% down to 42,000 units.
- On the European market, sales fell 10% down to 227,000 units, despite an increase in its main market in Europe, the United Kingdom (+ 1% to 68,000 units), and despite the good start of the new V40. The removal of the C30, S40 and V50 in late 2012 has for sure been a significant cause of the overall sales drop of the Swedish brand.
- By 2020, Volvo maintains its goal of selling 800,000 vehicles per year, including 200,000 in the Chinese market.
