Peugeot 508
- Peugeot presents the new generation of its 508, in the highly competitive D segment sedan market. Suffering from not only the competition of German premium sedans but also the growth of SUV, Peugeot has chosen for its 508 sedan to attack a niche market, the Audi A5 Sportback and VW Arteon.
- The new 508 is based on the EMP2 platform and announces a drop of 70 kg compared to the older generation.
- The engines will be the following: a 1600 petrol PureTech of 180hp and 225hp, a 1500 diesel BlueHDI of 130hp, a 2000 diesel BlueHDI of 160hp and 180hp. A rechargeable hybrid petrol version is scheduled for the end of 2019.
- The model will be marketed in Europe from September 2018.
- Peugeot announces a sales target of 80,000 units in Europe (production in Mulhouse), plus 40,000 units in China (production in Wuhan). Inovev expects 70,000 units in Europe.
Citroën Berlingo/Peugeot Rifter (& Opel Combo)
- The PSA group presents the new generation of Citroën Berlingo and Peugeot Partner vans as well as that of the Opel Combo ( which will no longer be built on the Fiat Doblobase ).
- The new models - including the Combo - are built on the same PSA EMP2 platform and share many body parts, but their front ends are specific.
- They all have the same engines (1200 gasoline 110hp and 130hp, 1500 diesel 75hp, 100hp and 130hp).
- They will be produced in the same European plants (Vigo in Spain and Mangualdein Portugal).
- The three new models will be available from September 2018 and an electric version will be added in 2019.

BMW X4
- BMW unveiled the second generation of its X4 SUV which is the coupe version of the D-segment X3 SUV launched in late 2017. The new BMW SUV will compete directly with the Mercedes GLC coupe.
- While sales of the BMW X3 reached a peak of 150,000 units in 2012, 2013 and 2016, those of the BMW X4 have never exceeded 60,000 units per year.
- In 2017, sales of the X3 dropped to 130,000 units and X4 sales to 50,000 units, but the new generations of X3 and X4 have the mission to boost sales, probably to 150,000 units annually for the X3 and 55,000 annual units for the X4, not counting China which should also assemble these models soon. Today they are produced only in the United States, in the Spartanburg (South Carolina) factory.

Volvo V60
- Volvo presents the new generation of the V60 wagon at the Geneva Motor Show 2018 . The new V60 (D-segment) is based on the SPA platform shared with the Volvo XC60, XC90 and S90 / V90. This is the modular platform dedicated to Volvo D and E segment models.
- The V60 rivals the BMW 3-Series, Mercedes C-Class and Audi A4 estate, which is the premium D segment.
- The Volvo V60 will be powered by T4 2.0 (190hp), T5 2.0 (254hp), T6 plug-in (340hp), T8 plug-in (390hp) gasoline engines and D3 2.0 (150hp) and D4 2.0 (190hp) diesel engines.
- The new generation of the V60 will be produced in Gent, Belgium, at the rate of 100,000 units per year, according to Inovev, to which must be added 50,000 units per year of the S60 sedan.

Polestar 1
- Unveiled in Shanghai at the end of 2017, the Polestar 1 makes its first public appearance at the Geneva Motor Show 2018.
- Polestar is the new brand created by Volvo and dedicated to the very high-end vehicles of the Geely Group, owner of the Swedish brand.
- The main aim of the Polestar brand is to sell its products in China and boost Volvo's image.
- The Polestar 1, D segment coupe, takes over the Volvo platform (SPA) and is equipped with a 600 hp plug-in hybrid petrol engine.
- Remarkably, the body is designed and built in carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP).
- It will be produced from the second half of 2019 in China, at Chengdu. The Polestar 1 will then be followed by the Polestar 2 (D segment sedan) in 2019 and the Polestar 3 (E segment SUV ), both of which will be equipped with Volvo’s first 100% electric engines.

Toyota Auris
- Toyota presents the new generation Auris sedan. This C-segment sedan, which is mainly sold in hybrid version, will continue to be produced in England , as currently , and could squeeze out the Avensis, which may not be replaced.
- The new Auris is built on Toyota's new global platform TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture).
- This new generation will not be available in diesel, but only in petrol (1.2) and hybrids (1.8 and 2.0).
- It competes with general segment sedans such as VW Golf, Ford Focus, Opel Astra, Renault Megane, Peugeot 308, Fiat Tipo, Honda Civic, Mazda 3, Hyundai i30, and Kia Ceed, with the advantage of its hybrid powertrain.
