Fiat will not sell the 500e in Europe

- Fiat has no intention to sell electric version of its electric model 500e in Europe. Given the proposed price, the manufacturer believes that there is no market for this type of vehicle in the area currently.

Volvo wants to sell 800,000 cars in 2020

- Volvo Cars plans to develop new models to expand its range still incomplete and sell 800,000 cars worldwide in 2020 (twice as currently).
- The manufacturer expects the green light from the Chinese executive management to develop various projects, in particular a small urban vehicle (C10) and a luxury limousine (S90), as well as a compact recreational vehicle (XC40, which would come earlier).
- On the sole Chinese market, the brand expects a sales volume of 200,000 units in 2020, a quarter of its sales. Volvo opens its first plant in China in 2013 and already plans a second assembly plant in the country.
- In the Indian market, the brand is not currently present but wishes to settle there permanently, like the German premium brands Audi, BMW and Mercedes that are already installed.
Global registrations up 10 months

- Over the first ten months of 2012, global vehicle registrations (PC + LUV) grew by 5.5% in comparison with the first ten months of 2011:
-Passenger cars (PC) rose by 6.8%
-Light commercial vehicles (LUV) rose by 1.9%
- Geography of markets:
•PC: all markets rise except Europe, Turkey and Korea
•LUV: all markets rise except Europe, Turkey and Korea but also China and Brazil
- It is to be noted that in 2011, global vehicle registrations increased by 4.6% (in comparison with the twelve months of 2010), despite the terrible tsunami in Japan and severe flooding in Thailand.
