Inovev expects 55,000 units production per year for the new BMW X4
- BMW has unveiled the second generation of its X4 SUV which is the coupe version of the D-segment X3 SUV launched at the end of 2017. Compared to the previous generation - that lasted only four years -, the new X4 is 8cm longer (at 4.75m), 4cm wider (at 1.94m) and 3cm lower (at 1.59m). The silhouette remains very close to that of the old X4. The new BMW SUV will compete directly with the Mercedes GLC coupe pending a future Audi Q5 coupe that could be named Q6.
- While sales of the BMW X3 reached a peak of 150,000 units in 2012, 2013 and 2016, those of the BMW X4 have never exceeded 60,000 units per year. In 2017, sales of the X3 dropped to 130,000 units and X4 sales to 50,000 units, but the new generations of X3 and X4 have the mission to boost sales, probably to 150,000 units annually for the X3 and 55,000 annual units for the X4, not counting China which should assemble these models soon, while today they are produced only in the United States, in the Spartanburg South Carolina factory.
- The engines of the new X4 are modeled on those of the X3: a 4-cylinder petrol 2.0 developing 184hp, a 6-cylinder gasoline 3.0 developing 252hp , a 4-cylinder diesel 2.0 developing 190hp and a 6-cylinder diesel 3.0 developing 231hp. The range will be capped next summer by even more powerful (more than 300hp) M4 versions.

GM Group Global Market in 2017
- 说明
GM Group Global Market in 2017
- The GM group (Chevrolet, Buick, Holden, GMC, Cadillac, Baojun, Wuling, and Opel-Vauxhall only until August 2017) has released sales figures for the year 2017. Worldwide sales are 9, 35 million units, a decrease of 6% compared to 2016. This decrease is attributable mainly to the sale of Opel-Vauxhall to the PSA group, which has been taken into account by the two groups starting 1 August 2017. The GM group now stands out as clearly below the three new world leaders, namely Renault-Nissan, Volkswagen and Toyota. A further decline is likely in 2018 as the GM group will no longer be able to count on Opel-Vauxhall sales in the first 7 months of the year, as in 2017.
- The global sales of the GM Group in 2017 break down as follows:
1. China is its largest market, with 4.15 million vehicles, or 44% of its global sales.
2. The United States is its second largest market, with 3.0 million vehicles, or 32% of its global sales.
3. Europe is its third market, with 0.78 million vehicles, or 8% of its worldwide sales.
- These three markets account for 84% of the GM group's worldwide sales in 2017, divided into 3.98 million Chevrolet, 1.30 million Buick, 0.78 million Opel-Vauxhall, 0.72 million GMC, 0.36 million Cadillac, with the remainder split between Wuling (1.13 million), Baojun(1.02 million) and Holden (0.06 million).
