The 25 most produced vehicles (passenger cars + light utility vehicles) in the world in 2024: Tesla Model Y in top position
The world produced just over 90 million vehicles in 2024, down nearly 2% from 2023. The most produced model last year was the battery electric Tesla Model Y SUV (as in 2023) with 1,224,321 units produced in the United States, China, and Europe (compared to 1,152,584 units in 2023).

The Toyota RAV4 is in second place (as in 2023) with 1,032,739 units produced in 2024 compared to 989,517 units in 2023. This model is assembled in Japan, China, Canada and the United States. Two SUVs will therefore occupy the first two places in 2024, as in 2023.

The Ford F-Series pickup (former world leader) remains third as in 2023 , with 977,410 units produced in 2024 compared to 909,033 the previous year. It is ahead of two other SUVs, the Toyota Corolla Cross (4th with 706,969 units produced in 2024 compared to 620,094 in 2023) produced in Japan, the United States, China, India and Brazil, and the Honda CRV (5th 97,117 units produced in 2024 compared to 679,832 in 2023) produced in Canada, the United States and China.

The first sedan is the Toyota Corolla (6th), part of whose customers turned last year to the Corolla Cross SUV (688,806 units produced in 2024 compared to 869,228 in 2023).

For the first time in 2024, we note the presence of three BYD models in the Top 25, but Toyota remains the most present brand with six models, ahead of BYD (3 models), Volkswagen (3 models) and Honda (3 models).
