The Peugeot 3008 became the most produced car in France in 2018
The Peugeot 3008 has become the most produced car in France in 2018, as in the 12 months of last year, 258,460 units have come out of the Sochaux plant (where production of this model for the European market is concentrated ), which is equivalent to an increase of 21.7% compared to 2017.

The Peugeot 3008 slightly outpaced the Toyota Yaris (248,541 units), leader in 2016 and 2017, which grew by 6.4% compared to 2017, but this increase was not enough to exceed the sales volume of the 3008.

The Peugeot 3008 has become the most produced SUV in France. In 2018, its main markets were: France (85,490 units), Italy (24,544 units), Spain (22,870 units), Great Britain (19,979 units), Germany (11,710 units), Belgium (7,299 units), the Netherlands (4,512 units), Portugal (3,450 units), Sweden (3,178 units) and Austria (2,776 units). France accounted for 33% of total Peugeot 3008 sales last year.

There are no Renault and Citroën models in the top 4 produced, as the Renault Clio are mainly manufactured in Turkey and the Citroën C3 are mainly manufactured in Slovakia, as is the Peugeot 208. Although the Peugeot 3008 is the most produced car in France in 2018, the Renault Clio remains the most produced French car in the world in 2018, with 411,796 units.

Inovev forecasts 100,000 new Mercedes CLA per year
Mercedes has presented the new generation of the CLA sedan, which is derived from the recent A-Class. This new generation is 6cm longer than the current generation, including 3cm on the wheelbase, in order to offer better habitability.

The CLA is a sedan although Mercedes considers it a 4-door coupe, not to be confused with the A-Class Sedan, which operates in the same C-segment, with slightly higher bodywork and a more imposing trunk.

The current Mercedes CLA was a success from its launch in 2013, reaching a production volume of 110,000 units by 2014, and finally approaching 120,000 units in 2015, since which time CLA sales have declined to 110,000 units in 2016, 90,000 in 2017 and 80,000 in 2018.

Inovev expects a volume of 100,000 units per year of the new CLA. Its production will continue to be carried out at Mercedes' Hungarian site in Kecskemét.

The new CLA incorporates the current engines, i.e. the 4 cylinder petrol 1.6 and 2.0 l as well as the 4 cylinder diesel 1.6 and 2,.2l. No electric or hybrid version is planned at this time.

The model will have to compete with the future Audi A3 Sedan and BMW 1 Series Sedan, which will be its main rivals.

Inovev forecasts 350,000 new Ford Explorer per year
At the 2019 Detroit Motor Show,  American manufacturer Ford presented the new generation of the Ford Explorer, which is the Ford brand's best-selling SUV (340,000 units in 2018) and one of the most impressive. Indeed, the Ford Explorer is in the Ford range just below the Expedition SUV, but above the Edge (segment D), Escape (segment C) and Ecosport (segment B). It is therefore an E segment SUV. The new Ford Explorer shares its platform with the Lincoln Aviator.

Its competitors are mainly the Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and Dodge Durango.

The Ford Explorer has always been an important model in the manufacturer's American range. Its origins go back to 1990. With the scheduled phase-out of the Fusion and Taurus sedans, the Explorer could become even more important over the next five years. That is why Inovev expects 350,000 annual sales of the new Ford Explorer, while the American market as a whole should decline during this period.

The new Ford Explorer will be produced as before at the American site in Chicago, Illinois.

Its engines are as follows: a 2.3-litre Ecoboost 4-cylinder petrol engine developing 300 hp, a 3-litre twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost petrol engine of 365 hp or 400 hp and a 3.3-litre V6 hybrid engine combined with an electric motor developing a total power of 318 hp.

The PSA group broke its world sales record in 2018
The PSA group (Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel, Vauxhall) broke its world sales record in 2018, thanks to the contribution of the European Opel/Vauxhall subsidiaries acquired from the GM group in the summer of 2017.

Total worldwide sales of the PSA Group amounted to 3,877,765 units (compared to 3,632,314 units in 2017), an increase of 6.8%.

The breakdown by brand is as follows: 1,740,214 units under the Peugeot brand (-17.9%), which suffered from a drop in sales in Iran, Turkey and China, 1,046,229 units under the Citroën brand (-0.9%), which suffered from a drop in sales in China, 53,265 units under the DS brand (+0,8%) which ended five years of decline with the launch of the DS7 Crossback, 827,706 units under the Opel brand and 210,351 units under the Vauxhall brand, both of which were recorded over twelve months in 2018 compared to five months in 2017.

This enabled the PSA Group to make overall progress in 2018, despite the poor results of the Peugeot and Citroën brands.

The PSA group's best-selling model was the Peugeot 208 (294,876 units), but the Peugeot 3008 is not far behind (265,125 units).
