Geneva Motorshow 2017: Opel Crossland and Opel Insignia
- The new Opel Crossland SUV (B segment) replaces the compact Meriva MPV (B segment).
- Manufactured on the same assembly lines as the Meriva, the Crossland adopts the platform and engines of the Citroën C3 Aircross also being presented at the Geneva show and produced on the same site.
- The Crossland is a little shorter than its potential in- house competitor the Opel Mokka
- The new generation of the Insignia sedan (D segment) replaces the previous model launched in 2009 (life cycle of 8 years).
- The new model, also available as a station wagon, is more upmarket, aiming at customers for Premium E-segment cars.
- The Insignia”s competitors will therefore mainly be the VW Passat, Ford Mondeo, Renault Talisman and Peugeot 508.
