Fiat replaces the Scudo (PSA base) by the Talento (Renault base)
- While PSA begins the production of the new light Utility Vehicles Peugeot Expert, Citroën Dispatch and Toyota Proace in Valenciennes , production of the vehicle replacing the Fiat Scudo starts at Renault in Sandouville.
- The partnership between PSA and Fiat on these mid-range utility vehicles have indeed ceased.
- Fiat turned itself to Renault to replace the Scudo previously derived from old models Peugeot Expert and Citroen Jumpy. Name of the new model therefore has been changed to mark the change of supplier of the two generations of light utility vehicles, both with the Fiat logo. It is now named Talento, a former name used by Fiat in the 90s to describe a variant of the Ducato (high range utility vehicle).
- Fiat Talento is derived from the Renault Traficmanufactured at Sandouville, like the Opel Vivaro (named Vauxhall Vivaro in England), which was launched two years ago, and like the future Nissan NV300 which will be launched in the coming weeks.
- These four models optimize the production volume of vehicles in Sandouville, since considering a production capacity set at 150,000 units per year at this site, Inovev expects an annual production broken down into 95,000 Renault Trafic, 25000 Fiat Talento, Nissan NV300 10,000 and 20,000 Opel Vivaro (the majority of Vivaro being produced at a GM plant in Luton, England : 60 000 units in 2015).
