The automobile production in France (PC + LUV) increased in 2014 (+5,9%)

After three years of uninterrupted decline and while the offshoring of smaller models continued last year (progressive transfer to Turkey of the Renault Clio and the transfer of the Peugeot 208 to Slovakia), the volume of automobile production in France (PC + LUV) increased in 2014 (+5,9%).
Several factors can explain this revival:
1.Relocation of the Renault Trafic vans in France (as in the 90s).
2.The success of some models manufactured entirely in France, such as the Peugeot 2008 and 308.
3.The beginning of exports of the Toyota Yaris manufactured in France to the United States, which increased the production volume of the Onnaing plant. The Yaris has become the most produced car in France.
4.The increasing production pace of the Mercedes Citan in the Renault plant in Maubeuge, and the increasing production rate of the Toyota ProAce in the PSA plant in Valenciennes.

The growth of production in France is still slight, especially when comparing 2014 figures with those from before 2009. On the other hand, it seems that Renault and PSA commitments to produce 700 000 in 2015 and 1 000 000 vehicles in 2016, respectively, are possible given current trends. Nevertheless one question remains unanswered about the C3: how will PSA make up for the transfer of the next generation Citroen from France to Slovakia?
