Production forecast in Turkey for 2015 (PC + LUV)
- The Turkish automotive production increases like the Turkish market, in spurts. But it still remains fairly independent of the local market as the country imports 70% of registered vehicles, mainly from continental Europe.
- Nevertheless, Turkey exports 75% of its production, mainly to continental Europe. So it is very susceptible to be affected by changes in the European market .
- Low production levels in 2009, 2012 and 2013 are mainly explained by both the low level of the European market and the low level of the Turkish market (which had declined by 10% in 2012).
- If Inovev foresees a reboot in production in Turkey by 2014 (+ 19%) and 2015 (5%), it is mainly because the European market is showing signs of recovery and that several manufacturers will increase their production volumes in this country: Hyundai has produced the i10 there since 2013 (100 000 units per year) and is starting the production of the new generation i20 (which should exceed the sales level of the previous generation), Renault manufactures increasingly more Clios (at the expense of the French plant of Flins), Toyota that has been manufacturing the Corolla since 2013 (100 000 units per year), Ford that offset the transfer of the Transit Connect to Valencia in Spain, with the Transit Courier and the arrival of part of the Transits formerly manufactured in Southampton in England (this site closed in 2013).
