Paris Motorshow 2022: Small urban vehicles
- The category of small urban vehicles, or category of L6/L7 vehicles in European legislation, will be strongly represented at the next Paris Motor Show. Indeed, 8 brands of small urban vehicles will be present this year: Aixam, City Transformer, E-Go Mobile, Eon Motors, Microlino, Mobilize, Silence and XEV. In 2018, during the previous Mondial Auto, only Aixam was present. The presence of these brands will also be remarkable given the absence of many passenger cars brands. Note however that Ligier and Microcar, specialists in the L6/L7 category, will not be present at the event.
- Among the 8 producers of small urban vehicles, we can note:
• Three French brands: Aixam, Eon Motors and Mobilize.
• A German brand: E-Go Mobile.
• A Spanish brand: Silence.
• A Swiss brand: Microlino.
• A Chinese brand: XEV.
• An Israeli brand: City transformer.
- All the brands present already offer vehicles in production or projects with electric motors and batteries. Only Aixam also offers a range of thermal vehicles.
- Among these producers, some are characterized by interesting technological solutions. Thus XEV with its Yoyo offers a battery swapping service (like Nio). Silence with its S04 offers a battery that be removed from the vehicle and transported thanks to its wheel system. The Startup City transformer offers a vehicle whose chassis expands or retracts depending on the speed. Finally, Mobilize (Renault-Nissan group) offers its vehicle for rental or car sharing.
