Venezuelan production decreased in 2013
 
Vehicle production in Venezuela fell 30% to 58 073 units over the first nine months of 2013, and should only reach 80 000 units throughout the year, announced the Cavenez (The Venezuelan Automobile Chambre), against 104 083 in 2012 and 172 418 in 2007.

"We will find similar volume of sale to those we had in the 90s' ",  the Cavenez said, adding that the situation in early 2014 will not be good.

Toyota has already announced an interruption of its business in Venezuela from October 28 to November 11 due to lack of components. Other manufacturers are studying the possibility of moving the end of year holiday season to December the 1st, with a return to normal values during the first half of 2014.

Over the first 9 months of 2013, Venezuelan production was dominated by four manufacturers (two American and two Japanese). Their share is as follows: 40% for Chevrolet, Ford 20%, 12.5% for Mitsubishi, 12.5% for Toyota.

The Venezuelan market over the first 9 months of 2013 reached 81 950 vehicles, of which a large part was manufactured locally. It could reach 120 000 units throughout 2013 against 130 553 units in 2012.

Imports account for 40 000 units in 2013 (against 30 000 in 2012).
